Employment support
People’s sentences don’t stop the day they get out of prison
Igniting a new start often begins with finding employment. There are many internal and external barriers in the way, though. Our job is to help break these down and find ways to a career that lays the foundation for a different way of life.
Realising untapped potential
A lack of literacy and numeracy skills, intergenerational unemployment and working closely with positive employers are just some of the things we can help with. There are practical courses available in construction health & safety, fire warden training and food safety in catering, among others.
Creating a supportive environment built on mutual trust is vital in getting people back to work and developing self-worth. Many have faced adversity, poverty, stigma and trauma in their lives, which will have influenced their choices. Coupled with a lack of role models and positive support, finding regular work they enjoy may have proved almost impossible. We’re here to change all that through work opportunities, volunteering, and support to become self-employed.
